Well, it’s Clothesline Fair weekend, and it sounds like Prairie Grove is going to be packed. I heard every vendor spot is sold out, so this may be one of the biggest ones yet.

It’s also supposed to be hotter than all get-out. What’s everybody’s go-to for staying cool while walking around the fair? Cold lemonade, hunting down every shady spot, or carrying one of those little fans and not caring who judges you?

Also, what’s the one thing you’ll go to the Clothesline Fair for that you probably wouldn’t bother with anywhere else?

Mine is the kettle corn. I’ll complain about the heat, then willingly stand beside a blazing-hot kettle to buy a bag of popcorn. Seems reasonable.

A little feel-good thought for the week…

After traveling and working in different parts of the country, I’ve learned there really aren’t many places quite like Northwest Arkansas.

Around here, you can fish on the lake in the morning, hike at noon, shop in the afternoon, enjoy a nice dinner, and still catch a concert at the Walmart AMP or a show at Walton Arts Center—all within about a 45-minute drive.

And if that’s not enough, we’ve got mountain biking, kayaking, canoeing, and camping less than an hour from home. You can basically be an outdoorsman, a foodie, a shopper, and a concertgoer all in the same day. You may need a shower and a change of clothes somewhere in the middle, but it can be done.

Sometimes we get so busy running around that we forget just how much we have right here in our own backyard.

Northwest Arkansas is beautiful, full of things to do, and a pretty special place to call home—even if the weather occasionally gives us all four seasons before lunchtime.
