Meet The Holmes Group

It’s been a while since I’ve properly introduced myself. I’m Kevin Holmes, founder of The Holmes Group. I’ve been in real estate for a little over 8 years now, and what started as a one-man mission has grown into something far bigger than I ever imagined.

I’m a husband, a dad to two amazing kids (6 & 5), and someone who’s deeply rooted in faith and family. That’s truly the heart behind everything we do here, helping people find home while staying grounded in what matters most.

Today, I’m incredibly proud to lead the most followed real estate team in Kansas City (still surreal to say that). And honestly, we couldn’t do any of it without YOU. Your support, your referrals, your encouragement… they mean the world.

Along my side I have Matt Kelly and Claire Hinkel. Not pictured but still just as valued Megan Myers and Tim Gibson. They show up with passion and purpose every single day, and we are so excited to see where this next year brings us!

Something I’ve been wondering a lot recently is has Johnson County caught up with the rest of the US?

What most people think is
1. Johnson County is still super affordable compared to the rest of the US
2. Johnson County has become just like everywhere else
The answer is neither

MEDIAN HOUSEHOLD INCOME
Johnson County: ~$109,000
United States: ~$82,000

MEDIAN HOME VALUE
Johnson County: ~$391,000
United Stated: ~$370,000-$390,000

HOME PRICE TO INCOME RATIO
Johnson County: ~4.3-4.5
United States: ~5.0

Johnson County is still more affordable than the country as a whole but 20 years ago, Johnson County wasn’t just “more affordable” it was DRAMATICALLY more affordable.

While it’s still better than the national average, that gap I had narrowed drastically. A lot of people simply live in kc because of the affordability so it’s important to know what’s going on.
