Buyers… Please be aware of this new rule. In the past a buyer agreement was optional, now it is mandatory if you want to view a property. Don’t be surprised if you are turned away at an open house for refusing to sign one with the agent on site. How do you avoid this? You hire (one) Realtor and they accompany you to any and all showings. JUST LIKE AGENTS HAVE ALWAYS OPERATED. The only difference is the buyer has to agree to an agency agreement and agent compensation in writing. Thoughts?

I have been waiting for today to make this post. Literally. It’s on my calendar… A few months ago I received a call from a previous client who hesitantly asked if I remembered her. This was a call I had been waiting on for years. YEARS!

Now keep in mind, I am very aware of people who will use and abuse your time. Time away from your family and your business. People who will never put in the work to achieve their goals. I could tell this lady was not one of those. She had a vision for her family. She dreamed of owning a home. I knew she eventually would make this dream a reality. Her faith and determination was bigger than any obstacle set before her.

She busted her behind for TWO years. Got with the right people to help her get things in order. Got her pre approval. Then, we got to work looking for her home. We saw a few nice houses. And then… I tear up thinking about her telling me how she didn’t think she’d ever have a home she didn’t have to put work into right away. When I tell you the most perfect house, in amazing condition house, in a great neighborhood house showed up for her. Fought through multiple offers, counters, an appraisal scheduling issue… And then it happened. Closing day! That friends is her faith and hard work being rewarded.

She could have gone with any other realtor. I know you all know plenty! Instead she stuck with me. I am so very grateful she chose me to be a part of her journey. My friend is truly an inspiration and someone I admire.
