This is a story so special it needs to be shared. It speaks to the incredible people who make up the Russ Lyon SIR brand as told by James Mednick wit our Russ Lyon Family.:
10 days ago, my daughter who's an administrator at Stanley British Primary School in Denver Colorado, called to ask if I could find a 3 BR/2BA condo or house for a family and extended family who are coming to Phoenix for 6 weeks of cancer treatment for their son.. The family of four just learned their 4 year old son had an aggressive cancerous brain tumor.. Following immediate surgery to remove the tumor, they will now live in Phoenix for the first phase of post-op treatment at one of the premier cancer hospitals. Then back to Denver for treatments lasting the balance of 2026.
Knowing our RLSIR Network has amazing breadth and depth to handle referrals; problem solving; etc., I posted their need for lodging during "high season" in Phoenix. Within 5 minutes, I received several responses. The message from Julie Xander read: "call me right away because I have a condo I just closed on and will "help out," (help out was an understatement). Julie offered her condo to the family, at no charge, for the duration of their treatment program at Mayo Clinic. Using some of the proceeds from the Go Fund Me page, the condo has been completely furnished with rental furniture and accessories. The condo is set up awaiting their arrival later today. Two humongous concerns: lodging and affordability, were taken care of instantly by one of our own.
Julie didn't stop there! A Go Fund Me page had been set up at the school to help the family financially. On one of her daily podcasts to thousands of followers, Julie featured the family's story and promoted the Go Fund Me page. AGAIN, It didn't stop there. For their arrival in Scottsdale this afternoon, Julie bought the 4 year old cancer patient and his 9 month old sibling toys to help them transition into their new home for the next 6 weeks.
Indeed Julie is an example of the people we are proud to work along with. Speaking for myself, I'm honored and grateful to our advisors for their outreach to provide more than simply housing for clients. THATAWAY2GO JULIE!
