Tuesday night was one of those nights that made me stop for a second and really appreciate the people around me. ♥️⚾️
I’ve been thinking about what it actually means to call ourselves a “team.” Because a team isn’t created by putting a name on a group of people. It isn’t a logo, matching shirts, or working for the same company.
A real team is something you build between people.
It’s knowing each other beyond the business. It’s being able to laugh together, lean on each other, celebrate each other without competition, and recognize when someone needs a little extra support. It’s knowing each other’s strengths, understanding each other’s personalities, and genuinely wanting to see the person beside you succeed.
When I started building the Burch Property Group, I had plenty of goals for what I wanted the business to become. But I don’t think I fully understood then that one of the things I would be most proud of wouldn’t be something you could measure by sales, listings, closings, or numbers.
It would be this.
Looking around as we were all cheering and realizing that the people beside me aren’t here simply because we all work in real estate. There are real friendships here. There’s trust. There’s a bond. There are inside jokes, long conversations, hard days, great days, lessons learned, celebrations, and memories being made along the way.
And maybe that’s why nights like this mean so much to me. I get to see everyone outside of the hustle & bustle of our everyday lives and just enjoy the people we’ve become together.
We’re all very different, and I think that’s part of what makes this work. Everyone brings something to this team that nobody else could bring. We push each other, we learn from each other, we drive each other crazy sometimes - MOST times 😂, but underneath all of it is a genuine respect for one another that I will never take for granted.
There are so many things I still want to accomplish with the Burch Property Group, and I’m excited about where we’re going. But I also never want to become so focused on building something bigger that I forget to appreciate what we’ve already built.
Because at the end of the day, a team is only a name until the people behind it give it meaning.
And these people have given the Burch Property Group more meaning than I ever could have created on my own.
I’m proud of what we’re building, but more than anything, I’m incredibly grateful for who I get to build it with.
It’s not just a team. It’s a family. Their families have become my family, and mine has become theirs. We’re not just building a business together… we’re doing life together, too. And that means more to me than I could ever put into words. 🫶🏽
Much love.
