Renters’ Tax Credit application form (RTC) — 2026

The State of Maryland provides eligible renters with a direct payment of up to $1,000 per year if they paid rent in Maryland and meet certain requirements.

Applications must be filed by Oct. 1, 2026.

To be considered complete, an application must include:
- Answers to all questions
- The applicant’s signature
- Copies of the complete federal income tax return, including all schedules and forms
- Any required Social Security form, such as SSA-1099
- Railroad Retirement verification or rate letter
- Responses to any follow-up questions from the department within a reasonable time frame

AWS Withdraws Proposed Calvert County Data Center Project

Calvert County Government informs residents that Amazon Data Services Inc. (AWS) has formally withdrawn its Calvert Technology Center Conceptual Site Development Plan application and has decided not to pursue the proposed data center project in Calvert County.
