"...Construction spending slipped 0.1% month-over-month in June, missing expectations for a 0.2% increase and easing from an unchanged reading in May.
Job openings on the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) came in at 7.359 million in June, below the expected 7.440 million and down from 7.537 million in May.
Mortgage application submissions decreased 2.9% during the week ending 7/31. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index decreased 3.6% from the previous week, while the Refinance Index decreased 1.9%.
The ADP Employment Report showed private payrolls increased by 44,000 in July, below the expected 68,000 and down from the prior reading of 95,000.
Continuing jobless claims increased to 1,801,000 for the week ending 7/25, above the expected 1,790,000 and up from 1,777,000 the previous week. Initial jobless claims, which lag one week behind continuing claims, decreased to 199,000 for the week ending 8/1, below the expected 203,000 and up slightly from the prior week's 198,000.
The employment situation weakened in July...."

"...The ADP weekly employment update showed that private payrolls increased by 15,000 for the week ending 7/24, slightly below the prior week's increase of 16,250.
The FHFA House Price Index showed home prices increased 0.3% month-over-month in May, above expectations for a 0.1% increase and improving from the prior 0.1% decline. Home prices also increased 2.2% year-over-year, up from 2.0% previously.
The S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller 20-City Home Price Index increased 1.6% year-over-year in May, above expectations for a 1.3% increase and faster than the prior 1.2% pace.
Mortgage application submissions decreased 6.4% during the week ending 7/24. Refinance application submissions decreased 9.9%, while seasonally adjusted purchase application submissions decreased 3.6%.
The Federal Open Market Committee held the federal funds rate unchanged at its July 29 meeting, in line with market expectations.
The advance estimate of second-quarter GDP showed the economy grew at an annualized rate of 1.5%, below expectations for 2.1%. Personal income increased 0.2% in June while consumer spending rose 0.3%, both below expectations. The Core PCE Price Index increased 0.1% month-over-month and 3.3% year-over-year, with the annual reading matching expectations while the monthly increase came in below forecasts.
Continuing jobless claims slipped to 1,782,000 for the week ending 7/18, below expectations of 1,800,000. Initial jobless claims increased to 197,000 for the week ending 7/25, though they came in below expectations for 201,000..."

"...The ADP weekly employment update showed that private payrolls increased by 16,500 for the latest week, down from 19,250 in the prior reading.
Mortgage application submissions increased 1.9% during the week ending 7/17. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index increased 5.5% from the previous week, while the Refinance Index decreased 2.4%.
Continuing jobless claims edged down to 1,796,000 during the week ending 7/11. Initial jobless claims fell to 187,000 during the week ending 7/18, well below the expected 211,000 and down from 209,000 the prior week.
Building permits were revised to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,374,000 in June, above expectations of 1,367,000. Building permits decreased 2.6% month-over-month, an improvement from the prior month's 0.9% decline and slightly better than the expected 3.0% decrease..."
