"...The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Housing Market Index slipped to 35 in June from 37 previously, coming in below the expected reading of 36 and marking the lowest level in the current cycle.

Mortgage application submissions decreased 3.8% during the week ending 6/12. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index decreased 3.4%, while the Refinance Index decreased 4.5%.

Retail sales rose 0.9% month-over-month in May, topping expectations for a 0.5% increase and accelerating from the prior 0.4% gain. Core retail sales increased 0.8%, while the retail control group rose 0.7%, both exceeding forecasts.

Pending home sales increased 3.8% month-over-month in May, well above the expected 0.8% increase and up from the prior 0.3% gain. The Pending Home Sales Index rose to 76.8 from 74.0..."

"...Existing home sales rose 3.2% month-over-month in May, accelerating from a 0.7% increase in the prior month. Total existing home sales came in at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.17 million, above expectations for 4.07 million and up from 4.04 million previously..."

"Construction spending increased 0.4% month-over-month in April, exceeding expectations for a 0.3% increase and improving from the prior 0.2% gain.

Job openings on the Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) increased to 7.618 million in April, well above expectations for 6.860 million and higher than the prior reading of 6.887 million.

Mortgage application submissions slipped 2.5% during the week ending 5/29. The seasonally adjusted Purchase Index decreased 3% while the Refinance Index decreased 2% from the previous week."
