A well-prepared listing should create a welcoming environment of warmth, style, cleanliness and a little bit of awe. Here are a few things to consider:
1. Declutter-clear the kitchen counter, bathroom sinks, closets, etc.
2. Paint walls and baseboards, if needed. Use neutral paint colors like Swiss Coffee (Benjamin Moore) or Greek Villa (Sherwin Williams)
3. Depersonalize the home by removing family photos and other personal items. You want potential buyers to be able to envision themselves in the home.
4. Clean, clean and clean again. Ensure there are no lingering odors.
5. Trim bushes, add fresh mulch, mow the lawn, pressure wash house and resurface or replace driveway, if necessary.
6. Stage the home to open up the space as much as possible. Unless items in a space serve a modern functional purpose for that particular room or adds style, it should be removed whenever possible.
7. Take professional pictures.
