Since I'm a real estate agent, you'd think my goal is always to help people sell their homes. But believe it or not, there are times when my best advice is not to sell.
Last year, I sat down with clients who felt pressured to sell their home because of financial uncertainty. They loved their home, had built equity, and truly didn't want to leave, but they feared they had no other choice.
Instead of listing their property right away, I suggested they explore refinancing options, consider renting out part of their home for extra income, or even consulting a financial advisor to see if selling was truly necessary.
In the end, they found a solution that allowed them to stay in the home they loved. No commission check for me, but a clear conscience knowing I did what was right for my client.
Sometimes, the best advice from a real estate professional isn’t about buying or selling—it’s about understanding the bigger picture and finding the right path for each unique situation.
