Marvin literally has Kauai in her soul. When Amy first settled on Kauai in 1972, she lived in a treehouse with a small community of surfers drawn to Kauai by amazing surf breaks and seclusion. Amys love of, and connection to nature, inspired her to call Kauai home for the past four decades. Although she has traveled the world, her heart has always been on the Garden Island, embraced by Kauais unpa
ralleled beauty and rural lifestyle. Her five children were born and raised on the North Shore of Kauai. When Amy married her husband Rick (an amazing sailor and overall water man) and settled at a secluded beachfront property on Kauais North Shore, she and her family had no access to public utilities, and basically lived a very natural and spiritual life using kerosene lamps, candles and an outdoor wood-burning water heater. They even took advantage of a natural spring for their domestic water needs and a stream for irrigation water. Today, the Marvins have incorporated solar electricity, an indoor shower and a few other modern conveniences into their lifestyle. But still, Amy and Rick remain adamant protectors of Kauais land and natural resources. In fact they have gone to great lengths and made many sacrifices to protect the reefs and beaches for future generations. Amy and her family are also avid sailors. Until 2002, they had owned a charter sailing company on Kauai for 25 years. Amy is a strong advocate of civic responsibility and has been extremely involved in her children's schools through fundraising efforts and classroom participation. She expresses herself through cooking, designing and sewing. Additionally, Amy plays and composes music for the guitar and piano. When it comes to sports, Amy is a long-boarder, snow skier and swimmer. Yoga is also part of her daily regime. Amy loves where she lives and loves her job. With a wealth of local knowledge she shares deep insight and history of Kaua'i and it's unique lifestyle. Her motto is "I am at your service". From France to Thailand and Guatemala to Kuala Lumpur, Amy has traveled and sailed the world. She worked as a singer in Japan for 18 months and learned to speak Japanese. But of all the beautiful and wonderful adventures shes experienced, shell tell you flat out, there is no place that compares to Kauai. She considers herself as loyal, hardworking, and nurturing. As a realtor, Amy brings honesty, integrity, a vast knowledge of Kauai, unrelenting service and a strategically focused approach to buying and selling real estate to each and every client.
