When I ask myself which form of government I trust to deliver on Pueblo’s long-term priorities, the answer is clear: A mayor.

Since moving to a Mayoral system, Pueblo has seen real progress — not empty promises.

✅ Secured $1 million from the Department of Local Affairs for the HARP expansion, enhancing and beautifying our Riverwalk
✅ De-Bruced, unlocking $30 million for critical road repairs
✅ Issued a mayoral order to speed up police hiring and close department vacancies
✅ Established Pueblo’s first permanent homeless shelter
✅ Developed an online permitting system that makes growth and development faster and more efficient

These are tangible wins — the kind of progress that comes from decisive leadership and direct accountability to voters. Keep a mayor.

Pueblo deserves leadership we can count on. That’s why we chose a mayor— someone elected by the people, accountable to every voter, not just a handful of politicians on city council.

A Mayor can lobby for funding, streamline government, and act decisively to move Pueblo forward. A city manager? Bound by process, controlled by City Council, and never accountable to you.

We tried that system for decades—and it failed our community. Let’s not go back.

On Election Day, vote NO on 2C. Keep Pueblo’s mayor. Keep Pueblo moving forward.

Mayors get things done — City Council doesn’t. Under a Mayor, Pueblo’s made progress: more development, more accountability, more results. City Council, on the other hand, stalls, fights, and delays. Don’t hand the keys to the same people who can’t even run a meeting.

Vote NO on 2C.

Some say a mayoral system costs more. But the truth? Pueblo’s old city manager system was far more expensive.

👉 In 2017, the city manager made $182,947 a year — plus leave, benefits, bonuses, and severance pay. Under the manager system, taxpayers also paid for two deputy city managers and an assistant city manager — each making six figures.

👉 Meanwhile, the current mayor earns $150,000, gets no leave, no severance, and works directly for you — the voters.

Vote NO on 2C — keep Pueblo accountable and cost-effective.
