NOW’S A GREAT TIME FOR SELLERS—a lot of buyers are still looking and well-qualified. Although inventory is up compared to last year, your home is very likely to be in demand.

Myths & Truths of this Changing Real Estate Market part 3. MYTH: Interest rates are outrageously high! TRUTH: They’re actually at about average. You’d have to look at the rates in the late 70’s-early 80’s to see actual terrible rates—in double digits. We only got used to historically liw rates for 2 years.

Seniors Believe Homeownership Their Smartest Financial Decision

Beyond the sentimental attachments that seniors have built for their homes, they also believe homeownership was the smartest financial decision they ever made, a new survey says.

Nearly three in four seniors—74%—say that purchasing their home was their best financial decision, according to a new survey of more than 1,500 respondents ages 60 to 75 conducted by the American Advisors Group. Further, 73% of respondents say that their home has become their most valuable asset.
