⚾ ROUNDING THE BASES – THIRD BASE!

If you've been following this little baseball season with me, you may have noticed I skipped a post after we reached second base.

Confession: I wasn't quite ready to celebrate yet.

Call it experience...or maybe just a REALTOR® who's learned that inspections have a way of keeping everyone humble. 😄

The good news? We made it.

Inspections are complete. Negotiations are behind us. A few bumps in the road are part of almost every transaction, but thanks to reasonable people, open communication, and a willingness to work together, everyone kept moving in the same direction.

One of my favorite things about real estate is that once an offer is accepted, there really isn't another team anymore. Buyers, sellers, agents, lenders, inspectors, and escrow all become teammates with one shared goal: getting everyone safely to home plate.

Now we're heading into the home stretch, with just the final details left before we celebrate crossing home plate.

⚾ PLAY BALL!

If you've ever sold a home, you know that putting the sign in the yard isn't the beginning of the game. It's Opening Day.

The practices happened long before anyone showed up in the stands.

Before a home ever hits the market, there's a team working behind the scenes. Homeowners making hard decisions. A painter touching up the details. A stager helping every room tell its story. A photographer capturing it in its best light. Friends lending a hand. Family cheering from the sidelines. And me, doing my best to keep everyone moving in the same direction while asking God for wisdom every step of the way.

After weeks of preparation, we reached First Base.

But baseball doesn't stop at first base...and neither does real estate.

We're already rounding the bag. The first showings are underway, buyers are stepping up to the plate, and we're excited to see who this house begins to feel like home to.

For now, we trust the preparation, stick to the game plan, and enjoy watching the season unfold.

I spend a lot of time helping sellers get their homes ready for market. Usually, I'm focused on paint colors, landscaping, staging...the house itself.

This week, while working on my newest North Tacoma listing (during the portion of the project when I was still upright 😄), something unexpected happened.

Kids were laughing across the street at Kandle Park. Neighbors were tending their gardens. People waved as they walked by. Others stopped to visit.

Without warning, my mind went straight to Chicago's Saturday in the Park.

Not because someone was playing the song...because the neighborhood felt like it.

As Realtors, we spend a lot of time talking about square footage, updates, and location. But every once in a while, a neighborhood reminds you that home has always been about more than the house.

This house has great bones.

The neighborhood gives it soul.
