Big things are brewing at NorthStar Development Partners! ⭐️

Yesterday’s strategy meeting has us excited about some good news we’ll be sharing soon! But today, we want to shine the spotlight on two outstanding Puyallup small businesses that continue to demonstrate what community partnership is all about!

🥐 The Savory and Sweet Café and Catering— Owner Karen is always working hard, serving up delicious homemade soups, sandwiches, and my personal favorite… a heavenly Ham & Gruyère Crêpe! If you haven’t stopped in, you’re missing out!

🤝 Jacobs & Jacobs Law Firm — Once again, this first-class team generously opened their conference room to accommodate our larger strategic meeting. Always gracious, professional, and welcoming, they exemplify what it means to lend a hand to fellow community partners.

Great communities are built by businesses that show up for one another. We’re grateful to work alongside people who understand that success is even sweeter when it’s shared!

Stay tuned… exciting things are on the NorthStar horizon! 🌟

We spotted our NorthStar Development Partners ✨billboard on Meridian today in the Puyallup–Edgewood area and was happy to see our message to “move projects forward” in the heart 🫶 of the Pierce County communities we know, serve, and navigate so well.🧭

Today included a meeting at Sumner City Hall followed up by a collaboration meeting with a highly respected commercial land-use consultant—precisely the kind of work we do best: bringing the right people to the table, finding a path through complicated processes, and helping good projects move forward.

The billboard may be in the spotlight🔦, but our focus is always on your project.🙌

From High Heels to High Boots
👠➡️👢

Some days in development work are boardrooms, strategy sessions, and city meetings.

Other days? They’re muddy boots, wetlands, construction sites, and walking properties to understand challenges firsthand.

At NorthStar Development Partners, helping clients navigate murky waters is what we do best!

Whether it’s:
✅ Complex permitting challenges
✅ Overcoming stop work orders
✅ Wetland and environmental constraints
✅ Access, utility, and infrastructure hurdles
✅ Multi-agency approvals
✅ Complicated development roadblocks

We bring together a wide variety of experience, strategic thinking, and a deep network of trusted experts, agency relationships, engineers, planners, architects, and consultants to help create a clear path forward.

Development isn’t always a straight line. Sometimes it’s messy. Sometimes it’s complicated. Sometimes it feels like you’re stuck in the mud.

That’s where we thrive.

We help clients see opportunities where others see obstacles, identify solutions where others see barriers, and move projects forward with confidence and clarity.

Because great development isn’t about avoiding hurdles—it’s about knowing how to navigate them.

And sometimes that starts with putting on a good pair of boots. 👢

We had a great time at the Tacoma–Pierce County Chamber Public Officials Holiday Event at the Tacoma Art Museum. It felt good to reconnect with familiar faces, meet new partners, and be part of an event that brings business, policy, and community leadership into the same room.

NorthStar Development Partners is glad to be back in the Chamber network — now wearing a new hat as a firm focused on advocacy and helping businesses move their projects forward. Pierce County continues to grow, and we’re looking forward to being one more resource for companies navigating development, permitting, and expansion in the region.

A solid night with a solid crowd. Happy Holidays.

Kent is driven by a passion to make major projects less daunting. After decades of navigating complex systems, he believes no one should have to be a government insider to bring their vision to life. His mission at NorthStar is to clear the path, preserve community character, and get projects to “YES” with clarity and confidence.

Permitting shouldn’t be a guessing game.

NorthStar was born from that challenge and frustration and from the drive to make large, meaningful projects less daunting. We help you clear the path, preserve the character of your project, and bring big visions to life with clarity and confidence.

👉 Let’s skip the delay and get to “YES.”

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗟𝗟𝗖

After 18 years as a business owner, leading the Puyallup Sumner Chamber of Commerce, and serving as a Board Director for the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber, my years of advocacy and economic development work have made one truth crystal clear: 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 = 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗘𝗬.

Too often, incredible projects stall—not from lack of vision, but because navigating permitting and development is slow, unclear, and full of conflicting steps.

I co-founded NorthStar Development Partners, LLC to be the creative collaborator who helps clients move forward faster—leveraging proven relationships with government officials, years of advocacy, and a knack for finding solutions that work for everyone at the table.

Our role is part strategist, part connector, part problem-solver—removing barriers, aligning stakeholders, and creating the kind of momentum that transforms a “𝘮𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘺” project into a “𝗱𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹.”

𝗙𝘂𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗺𝗲:

I’m a faith-forward woman and passionate about equipping female leaders with the tools to step boldly into their calling. Through The Bible Bot Society’s Leadership Program, “Anchored Series”, I have recently created a platform, community and program for female entrepreneurs by blending Biblical leadership lessons with practical AI tools, helping them scale their businesses with confidence, purpose, and clarity.

I authored the "AI Cheerleader" book and brand, inspired by my own AI Journey and my time as a San Francisco 49ers Cheerleader where I was part of a team that won two Super Bowls from 1987 - 1991.

I founded Gravel to Gold Ventures, a Marketing Intelligence Firm and Saas Agency dedicated to helping businesses grow smarter, faster.

🎶 I love country and worship music, riding dirt bikes, and golfing---and I find inspiration and balance when I can spend time at our Cle Elum cabin.

I am semi-obsessed with Mishka and Gretel, my Pitbull and Rottweiler pups!
