Hello I have a special needs child I'm trying to support parents and children who have no idea where to start. Please share this info on your page thank you and God bless. Now this is my personal thoughts meant to help inspire and give hope to other parents out there. Please know that it is meaning of this.
Checklist one should have if they are expecting or find they have been given the challenging blessing of a special needs child.
#1 start getting copies of any Dr. reports.
#2 Once baby is born or diagnosis is found take supporting documentation to: State agencies that help EARLY INTERVENTION DDD
SOCIAL SECURITY AZLONG TERM CARE ...
#3 Take documentation and any images to any appointments always. Make and take your own copies to give new drs right away if you can.
#4 Phoenix Childrens Cordons and CRS are places in Arizona that you will need a Neuro surgeon, neurologist, Geneticist , a Gastrointestinal Specialist , Ear Nose and throat Dr.
#5. Therapies for now and the future if needed will start with developmental , speech /feeding therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical therapy .
#6 Get yourself signed up to get extra help! I use Affinity Family Care. These places provide respite habillitation and attendant care. Youll need it its free sign up!
some support ! Friends family loved ones your church other parents going through same thing . they're out there...
I'm sure there's variations of this depending on where you live but this will get the ball rolling. Just remember we gotta fight for these kids. God blessed US with them and WE have to do our best as with any child.
