My friend, Ron Musgraves inspired me to tell my story of starting my own business. In high school, I would run to Arby's or Taco John's to buy lunch for classmates, as long as they bought mine. Worked well and did it for a couple years. After working in the real world in several different jobs, I started working for a developer who started doing property management. I ran his property management division making him wealthier and decided why not run my own property management business. That was almost 11 years ago. I told the guy I worked for that I would never work for anyone else ever again, and I won't. I have a successful commercial property management company and several people offered to buy my business and come work for them. I always tell them, you couldn't afford me and besides, why would I? I love working for myself and my commute is awesome, downstairs to my home office upstairs. Can't beat that.
