A story of gratefulness and joy:
The past couple of days I have had the blessing of doing what is probably the favorite part of my "job." I have had the opportunity to do this a lot over the years.
I was approached just a few days ago by a young married couple who I have known for over 10 years and watched grow up with my own kids, saying they want to start looking into buying a home. So the first thing I always do is set up a time to sit down and hear their goals and dreams, and explain the home buying process... at my office or a coffee shop if need be. I love watching them go from very overwhelmed and wide eyed and full of questions, to visually calm, relaxed and excited after that consult is over! And we always end with the fun part...putting together and looking through homes that may be a fit! I get them connected with a trusted lender to be pre-qualified before we sit down for this if possible, so we have factual numbers to go through...otherwise we may be building unrealistic vision, talking hypothetics.
In this case, as we were talking, I also brought up new build homes...because in the area where they were looking there are some killer pricing and interest rate incentives. They had no idea, hadn't thought of it...but we decided it would be good to explore as well. They are not in a rush...but at the same time have all their ducks in a row and are ready when the right thing comes up.
Well, don't you know...after just a few hours of exploring a few options the next day...they are under contract for an amazing new spec home in a location they love and a very cute community. WITH INCENTIVES that can't be beat! 4.99% FIXED rate for 30 years. That is do-able and much below historical averages. And they are getting builder to pay most of their closing costs!
To watch them walk into the house and see the "this is perfect" look on their faces, and be so excited and have peace, is one of the biggest joys in my life. I feel beyond blessed to have this be my job.
They are blurred out, because sharing this with their people is not my place π
