This man asked me how many children I have. Most people ask IF first but I learned people in Utah have kids early… & plenty.

When I told him my little girl is about to be 2, he showed me this. A picture of his 2 year old daughter with him while he received the International Wedding Photographer of the Year Award in ‘82. Big deal in his industry. Not that big a deal to him when he puts his life in perspective. What he seemed more proud of is the fact that he was a business owner who passed his wisdom, work ethic, passion and values onto his children. Now his daughter is, in his words, a more successful photographer than he ever was. She travels the world, earns a great living and is in high demand… clients have to book her up to 2 years in advance.

All of that impressed me. The other thing that impressed me was how relentless Dennis was when finding ways to improve and systemize his business. He succeeded. Not because of all the money he made or the accolades he racked up. He succeeded because he remembered his purpose throughout his journey and made certain he was in attendance for all of his kids’ High School tennis matches and cheerleading events.

These last 2 days in Utah were special since the dozens of leaders & I masterminded with seem to be on the same path as Dennis. Growing massive businesses while keeping their values and their “why” at the forefront. Always finding ways to improve… because it’ll never be “perfect.” All to improve the lives of those around them. What a driving force to have.
