Ahh, the last day of August! Summer is almost over, yet you can't get enough of the great outdoors. The sun is bright and warm, the weather is great. National Eat Outside Day couldn't come at a better time.

People have been eating outdoors since the days of the caveman. Nowadays, people eat most, if not all, of their meals indoors. Eating outdoors has become more of a special event, than a regular occurrence. National Eat Outdoors Day, is an opportunity to change that, if only for a day.

Celebrating this special day is very easy. Find a picnic table, a park bench, or an outdoor restaurant. You can also spread a blanket out on the lawn. Use one of these special places to eat all of your meals, snacks, popsicles and ice cream, outside in sunshine and fresh air. You will be glad you did!

Just an FYI if your out an about

Update: This incident has been mitigated. Michigan Gas will be working on repairs for the next couple days.

We have a significant gas line rupture on Chicago Street in the Village of Quincy. This will be a lengthy repair that will require traffic to be diverted. Truck and thur traffic will be detoured North from Chicago Street to Quincy Grange Road to State Road to Main Street. Local traffic will be detoured to the South from Chicago/Berry Street to Jefferson Street to Main Street. No foot traffic will be allowed in the area of the leak. We are continuously monitoring levels and no resident evacuations are necessary at this time.
