If you’ve noticed missing listings or delayed updates on Zillow lately, here’s what’s going on:
There is currently a dispute between MRED (Midwest Real Estate Data — the MLS system many agents in Illinois and surrounding areas use) and Zillow regarding how certain listings are displayed online.
As of this week, MRED has suspended Zillow’s access to some listing data feeds due to disagreements over Zillow’s handling of “private” or pre-market listings. Because of this, some homes may:
• Not appear on Zillow at all
• Show delayed information
• Display incomplete or inaccurate listing details
This does NOT mean the homes are off the market — it simply means Zillow may not currently have access to all MLS data in certain areas.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it’s more important than ever to work directly with a REALTOR® who has full MLS access.
