KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE: ANGER PART 2

Back to the book I recommended about Anger. In the book Gary Chapman discusses two types of . There is good Anger and there is Bad. Read the story of Naaman. Was Naaman anger good or bad?

Then Naaman went with his horses and chariot, and he stood at the door of Elisha’s house. And Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, “Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall be restored to you, and you shall be clean.” But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the LORD his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.’ Are not the Abanah and the Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Could I not wash in them and be clean?” So he turned and went away in a rage. And his servants came near and spoke to him, and said, “My father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it? How much more then, when he says to you, ‘Wash, and be clean’?” So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

KNOWING IS HALF THE BATTLE:

So I really struggle with Anger to the point it’s
1) uncontrollable
2) inappropriately directed toward family and friends
3) found to be factually unwarranted.

As a Veteran and also as a Christian I know my anger is wrong and to protect others I HAVE TO figure the Anger Issue out.

I struggle with reading the Bible and putting teachings and examples together. So I finally found a spiritual mentor at my church. After talking to him multiple times he gave me this book.

Ladies and Gentlemen if you truly want help and understanding about Anger I highly encourage you to start this book. Take your time with it. Treat this like there is a test and reread everything until you understand it.

I am suggesting this because knowing we have issues is just not okay for our marriage and relationships. That’s just the way it is, is not an acceptable answer if you want to 1) stay married 2) have a strong relationship with your wife and kids. You know the relationship you admired and always wanted when you started dating or when your kids were born and before things got bad.

I am not saying I have mastered anything but my eyes are open and my heart and mind are working for change in my life and my relationship.
