The Town of Christiansburg will be hosting two, open houses for the public to review and provide feedback on the Comprehensive Plan draft.

The Comprehensive Plan is a long-range plan that outlines the community’s vision for the future, guides physical development, informs decision-making, and helps prioritize programs, projects and investments to meet current and future community needs. This is a drop-in open house format, and community members are welcome to attend at any time during the following scheduled hours:

Session One: Thursday, June 11 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Administrative Conference Room at Christiansburg Town Hall (100 E. Main St., Christiansburg)

Session Two: Tuesday, June 16 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in Classroom 2 at the Christiansburg Recreation Center (1600 N Franklin Street, Christiansburg)

Beginning Monday, June 1 at 7 a.m., a contractor will be conducting a series of borings as part of the Town's project to design and replace the bridge over Walnut Branch.

During this time, Depot St. NE will be closed between Park St. and Roanoke St. Traffic will be detoured to Park St. NE and Haymaker St. NE.

The work is expected to take five days to complete. Depot St. will be fully open by Friday, June 5.

April is National Safe Digging Month. Remember to call Virginia 811 (VA811.com) before you dig.

811 protects you and your community! Hitting a buried line while digging can disrupt utility service, cost money to repair, or cause serious injury. Always contact your 811 center, wait the required time for utilities to respond to your request, and ensure that all utilities have responded to your request before putting a shovel in the ground.
