21 years ago, my wife, Teresa, bought me a star for my birthday. This Registry map has been on the wall a few times in our many PCS moves but mostly it’s been in a box. I found it this morning and thought I’d hang it on the wall in my office at EXIT Realty Preferred. Someone thought they’d send me a reminder 🤷‍♂️

Mortgage Rates Are Moving 👀

Everything I am seeing from my lending partners shows that mortgage rates have eased a little. The latest numbers put the average 30-year fixed VA mortgage around 6.25%–6.5%.

🤔Is that 3%? Nope.

Is it a reason to sit on the sidelines waiting for the “perfect” rate? I don’t think so.

Here’s the thing I tell my buyers:

🏠 You buy the house — not the interest rate.

Rates can change. Your home price, the inventory available, and the negotiating position you have today can change, too.

And if rates improve later? You may have an opportunity to refinance.

The bigger question isn't “Will rates drop?” It's “Does buying make sense for YOU at today's numbers?”

That's where having a Realtor® who understands both the real estate market and the economic side of the transaction matters.
