🌟 How Cary Became the Gem of Wake County 🌟

Did you know Cary started as a small railroad town in the 1800s? 🚂 What was once a stop along the tracks has transformed into one of the most sought-after places to live in North Carolina! Here’s a quick look at Cary’s incredible journey:

Cary's history dates back to the 1750's when European settlers moved into the area. A small local Inn that served as a stopover for travelers actually gave us our first name... Bradford's Ordinary! In 1856, Frank Page - known as the "Father of Cary" - gave us our name today, "Cary", after Samuel Fenton Cary, a prominent Ohio politician and temperance advocate. The railroad made Cary a convenient stop for travelers and contributed to its early growth.

📜Officially founded in 1871, with Frank Page being our very 1st Mayor, we began to establish schools, businesses, churches and we became a hub for surrounding agricultural communities. This rail line brought significant growth to the area. Its charm grew with a focus on education and tight-knit community values.

Gurkan’s Downtown Auto Repair Shop will soon be the new home of Lloyd’s Full Service, set to bring fresh, locally-inspired dishes and a welcoming atmosphere. It’s going to be the perfect spot to enjoy a meal with family and friends. 🍽️

Next, donut lovers, get ready! 🍩 The Salty Donut is making its way to The Fenton in Cary, and trust me, their handcrafted, small-batch donuts are worth the hype. The Salty Donut started as a Pop-Up in 2015 in Miami and has since grown to multiple locations in Florida, Texas, Charlotte, Denver, Nashville and Washington D.C. Flavors like Maple Bacon and Brown Butter Salted Caramel? Yes, please! 😋

And finally, a big shoutout to Blue Moon Bakery, moving into the historic Ashworth’s Drug Store building! While reflecting today, I wanted to share something with you all. In our world of constant updates and sharing, it’s easy to forget how much we’re putting out there for everyone to see. Especially when it comes to our homes and personal spaces, a little caution can go a long way.

I’ve decided to take a step back and think twice before sharing details about my location, vacations, or even those cute little updates that might unintentionally let others know my home is empty until I am back home. 🏠💬
