Our client spent years searching for the right home with her incredible agent and we got to tag along for the ride. As she toured homes across the area, we helped her talk through a what a renovation would look like and ballpark numbers so when the right house finally came along, she knew exactly what she was working with.

This one came up and checked all the boxes that are hard to change: Location, good bones, great floor plan. It just needed a little love and our client’s personality infused into it.

A favorite kitchen transformation for some of our most loved clients. The footprint of the kitchen remained the same, but we traded the older wood cabinetry for timeless white cabinets that went all the way to the ceiling, increased the island size and added color for interest, and tied it all together with soothing quartz countertops. A beautiful and timeless refresh and a kitchen made for hosting their growing (Hokie) family.

Welcoming September with a warm and earthy bathroom palette. These clients fell in love with the olive green tile, and it set the tone for a beautiful bathroom transformation.

As we discussed plans and what worked (or didn’t work) in their bathroom, keeping a bathtub for their littles was important to this family. However, the bulky corner garden tub took up valuable real estate. We swapped it out for a beautiful freestanding tub, tucked into its own private nook. A tub that can handle bath time but will also serve as a luxurious escape for Mom and Dad as the kids grow up. And in the space where the former tub was, we created a large double vanity full of needed storage space.

The green tile perfectly balances the wood vanity and brass finishes, resulting in a beautifully refreshed and timeless space that can grow with this sweet family over time.

Same footprint, whole new feel!

This kitchen renovation was all about smart evolution, not demolition. Our clients, empty nesters, wanted a space they’d love living in now, but one that would also resonate with the next owners down the road.

The goal: Maintain the the existing footprint, keep their beloved farm table and the sun-filled breakfast nook, and rethink everything else for better function and flow.

The results: Warm, white cabinetry with brushed brass accents and a soft, neutral time that will never go out of style. A statement stainless steel refrigerator and freezer column with the capacity to handle real entertaining and food storage. Appliances that handle family dinners, both big and small. A new range hood system, sized sufficiently to operate effectively and efficiently. More storage within the existing footprint, created by extended the back of the peninsula with narrow cabinets.

Proof that a renovation doesn’t need a total footprint overhaul to feel completely transformed. Sometimes the smartest design move is knowing exactly what to keep.

One of the things we often balance during a renovation is the line between guiding clients to make thoughtful choices with resale in mind, while still creating a unique and personalized space that they will love and enjoy for as long as they continue to live there. Resale value matters but so does loving your own home while you are there.

When we first stbegan talking through plans with these clients—a kitchen renovation along with a scullery/laundry room just off the kitchen—they shared that they wanted to renovate their kitchen with an emphasis on making timeless choices that would add resale value, as they knew that as empty nesters, they would likely sell in a few years. The result was a beautiful and timeless white kitchen with tons of storage, new appliances and plenty of space to entertain.

But when it came to their laundry room/scullery just off the kitchen, they decided to go for it and make it uniquely their own. And that result? Well it speaks for itself and might just be one of our favorite spaces we have done! A bold wallpaper, color-drenched walls and ceiling matching the cabinets, gorgeous soapstone countertops, a beautiful statement chandelier, black and white checkered marble floors and a hardworking laundry/drop zone area with sliding doors.

The icing on top of this renovation was finishing it just in time for them to host family and friends for their daughter’s graduation party from UNC!
