Full circle moments hit different. 🖤🏀

To be honored by Asheville High School—the place that shaped my discipline, confidence, and belief in myself—means more than words can explain. This is where I learned how to lead, how to fight through doubt, and how to show up even when the road wasn’t easy. Long before championships, careers, or titles, this school poured into me as a young girl trying to figure out who she was becoming.

Having my jersey retired was already emotional… but being inducted into the Hall of Fame feels like a reminder that your roots matter. The lessons, the people, the structure—it all stays with you.

Sonita, thank you for always seeing me, supporting me, and believing in me beyond the stat sheet. Your guidance and consistency helped mold not just the athlete I was, but the woman I am today. That foundation carried me through every chapter that followed—on the court, in life, and now in my writing.

My book was born from this same journey—learning how to stand tall, fall forward, and keep going even when life doesn’t look how you planned. Asheville High didn’t just prepare me to win games… it prepared me to survive life, embrace growth, and own my story.

This honor isn’t just about the past—it’s about legacy. It’s about showing the next generation that where you start matters, who pours into you matters, and that your story is still being written.

I made this video because I’m in my nostalgic millennial era — and it hit me how far I’ve truly come. For the first time, I can look back at the tough moments, the pressure, the highs, the cuts, and the heartbreak… and actually smile.

Now that I’ve stepped into my voice as an author, I’ve been able to release so much of the pain from my past. And what’s wild is… revisiting those old memories doesn’t hurt anymore. It feels beautiful. It feels necessary. It feels like closure and gratitude at the same time.

Basketball grew me. Writing healed me.
And now producing is awakening something brand new.
This journey was meant for me — every chapter of it.
