Every neighborhood has a story. Ours just happens to start with George.

At Beacon Street, we believe the most meaningful places are rooted in the character and history of the communities they serve. That's why The George is named in honor of George Davis — a Durham leader whose quiet influence, deep community roots, and lasting impact helped shape the city we know today.

In this short film, we share the story behind the name and the legacy that inspired one of Durham's newest residential neighborhoods.

We hope you'll take a few minutes to learn more about the man behind the name — and the legacy that continues to shape Durham today.

The City Homes were designed for the way we live today, beautifully adaptable for those still at full stride, and effortlessly refined for those who’ve found their stride. Every home, timeless by design, quietly anticipates what’s next.

Every room has its own personality. Just off the foyer, this one knows how to play many roles - a formal dining room, a cozy den, a library, or perhaps the perfect spot to catch an episode of your favorite show.

It’s gracious enough to greet guests and relaxed enough to host a quiet night in, a true reflection of how life is meant to unfold at home.

At Birney Park Raleigh, every space is designed with both beauty and possibility in mind. However you choose to live, there’s room for it here.

Every home has its gathering places. In the City Homes, the kitchen is just that, a hub of daily life, yet it carries itself with quiet elegance rather than stealing the spotlight.

Beautiful, functional, and built for daily life, it opens naturally to the living room and, in each residence, to the covered porch beyond. Morning coffee is a little easier here, as is an evening of hosting friends.

It’s a space that belongs to the rhythm of the day, private when you need it, open when you want it, always ready, never overstated.

Every neighborhood tells its story from the street. Along Birney Park Circle, these City Homes sit with a quiet confidence, at once timeless, like the great streets of Boston or London, and yet distinctly Raleigh.

The balance matters. To travel is to be inspired, but to build well is to listen, to honor, what’s beautiful right here at home. And so these homes are set not just with brick and stone, but with sidewalks and shade trees, where a simple walk can spark a chance hello and the life of the neighborhood unfolds.

At Birney Park Raleigh, we love the homes. We love the spaces between them. And most of all, we love the stage they create for the lives soon to be lived here.

Every story deserves a beautiful beginning. As the front door opens, you’re welcomed by a gracious foyer and a sitting room that feels both refined and inviting, the kind of place where first hellos linger a little longer.

Here, classical design meets everyday ease. The arrival is more than just a threshold; it sets the stage for a home that’s meant to be lived in, loved, and shared.

These are the City Homes Birney Park Raleigh.
