SURPRISE! ✂️💇‍♀️

I decided it was time to donate my hair again because apparently the universe—and collagen supplements —have decided to give me more hair than I know what to do with. 😂

So… chop chop! ✂️

A few inches are coming off, and hopefully that hair can become part of something meaningful for someone who needs it. ❤️

Meanwhile, I’ll be over here enjoying a significantly lighter head and pretending I planned this all along. 😂

New hair. Same me. Slightly less shampoo. 💁‍♀️

🏡 Closing in Durham County! 🎉

Another happy closing today—and this one is a great reminder that buying a home isn’t just about finding a house you love. It’s about finding the right home for the life you’re building.

This family relocated from Florida and had been renting while they figured out their next chapter. They found a home they *loved*… but it was a little above the price point they had originally planned.

So we dug in.

What do you need? What do you want? And, most importantly, what does the next few years actually look like?

Once we started talking about the bigger picture, we realized this probably wasn’t going to be their forever home. And with the possibility of another job transfer down the road, it made sense to adjust the wants vs. needs and keep their monthly payment where they were comfortable.

And guess what?

They found another home they love just as much - one that fit their budget *and* their future plans. ❤️🏡

That’s one of my favorite parts of this job. Sometimes my job isn’t to help you buy the house you *think* you want.

It’s to ask enough questions to help you figure out which house actually makes sense for your life.

Congratulations to this sweet family! 🎉 Welcome to North Carolina—and hopefully this home keeps you here for a little while! 😉

September in North Carolina is…confusing. 😂

I still have a few tomatoes ripening on the vine, while my fall figs are also starting to ripen.

So apparently, my garden has decided it’s both summer AND fall. 🍅🍂

And honestly? That feels a lot like the real estate market sometimes.

You can have one house that gets multiple offers the first weekend, while another sits there waiting for the right buyer.

One neighborhood is booming, while another is a little slower.

One buyer is ready to write an offer TODAY, while another needs a little more time to figure out what they actually want.

Real estate—and September in NC—doesn’t always fit neatly into a box.

Things can overlap. Seasons can change before you’re ready. And sometimes you just have to pay attention to what’s actually happening rather than relying on what usually happens this time of year.

That’s one of the reasons I love what I do.

Every client, every house, and every market is a little different.

And just like my garden, I’m paying attention. 😉🏡

Now excuse me while I go check whether I’m harvesting tomatoes or figs today. 😂

I know. Two topics that probably aren’t at the top of anyone’s “fun things to think about” list. 😂 But both are pretty important **before** you actually need a plan.

For homeowners, now is a good time to:

🏡 Review your homeowners and flood insurance
📸 Take photos or videos of your home and valuables
🔥 Test your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors
🌀 Make a plan for hurricanes and power outages
🎒 Put together an emergency kit and evacuation plan
🚑 Make sure your house number is easy for first responders to see

And for my fellow real estate professionals: **trust your gut.** Verify appointments, let someone know where you are, share your location, and never assume a showing is “just another showing.”

Because while we all hope we’ll never need any of this information, it’s a lot easier to make a plan when you’re not in the middle of an emergency.

The supplies might not be free, but having a plan? **That could be priceless.**
