Lynn Road Elementary lost about $28,000 in federal funding this year. My son George is in the 4th grade.

The PTA is trying to raise $30,000 to cover the gap, and the big push is the Run Roll & Roar on October 2nd — the whole school runs laps, there's a DJ and a bubble machine, and parents are invited to come cheer.

George's personal goal was $500. He's trying to go well past it.

The money goes to books, library materials, cultural arts assemblies, classroom supplies, and a fund the PTA uses to help families who need food or clothing. Not abstract stuff.
