When we opened the first inspection service in Raleigh in 1980, virtually no one had even heard of a home inspection or commercial building inspection. Today, almost every purchase includes an inspection, and we are proud to have been part of introducing this valuable service to the area. Our team of licensed inspectors has performed more inspections – over 35,000 – and we have been in business longer than anyone else in North Carolina. When inspectors became licensed in the early 1990’s then-Governor Jim Hunt appointed Steve Smallman to the first NC Home Inspector Licensure Board, and during 7 years of service on that Board Steve helped write the Standards of Practice for NC inspectors, and write the Inspector Examination that all prospective inspectors must pass to be licensed.
