I finally finished the cutout on the other side of the fireplace. I debated on what do do here, but I decided on shelves and a wall sconce light that I could instal myself.

This is a meaning no wiring! I bought the wall sconce lights (a set of 2) on Amazon for less than $30 and a set of puck lights with remotes. I mounted the wall sconce, then used a hot glue gun to glue the puck light in place of the lightbulb. Now, with one click of the remote, this boring little cut out lights up. So cute and so easy!

When you’re buying a home, I suggest prioritizing your must have’s, starting with the things that you can’t change, such as neighborhood, street, schools, floor plan, etc. Home design and finishings can always be updated.

When we first toured our home, we were a bit hesitant, but our oldest knew it was “the one”. I, especially, didn’t love the flooring or the dirt backyard, but the location, school, quiet cup-de-sac and size checked all our must-have boxes. We’ve been slowly making it our own. Ok, maybe not “just” sold, but I’m finally catching up on social media.

We ended up closing $10k over asking and got a month of free rent back. The month of free rent back allowed us to still be in the home, but no longer a contingency, making for stronger buyers!
