Had an awesome morning today with these 2 dynamic people. Lyndsey represents Bithiah’s Family Services, who was having a fund raiser for next month asking for jackets and pajamas. I am an Associate Broker for Hearthstone Homes, and the owners happen to be friends with Lyndsey. They decided they would like to help with the fundraiser. They notified me of their plans to help and I immediately thought of my good friend from St. Peter St. Paul, Zaki Mustafa. His charity is called Transforming a Life (https://transformingalife.org) and they are very active in helping people in need, which includes distributing jackets to people who need help. I called Zaki and told him of our plight and asked if this would be a situation where he could be helpful. Well, Bithiah’s Family Services (https://bithiahsfamilyservices.org/) also does a lot to help people in need, specializing in helping “Foster and Kinship families”. Fortunately, it turns out that it was a great match and Zaki was able to help by supplying more than enough jackets to meet Bithiah’s goal (see pics). I think it would be fair to say that Lyndsey was more than impressed at the quality of the jackets. For me, it was invigorating to find out more about both of these organizations and the good that they do. These are the unsung heroes that set the example for all us. I am particularly thankful for Zaki (and Loretta, of course) and the generosity of their organization. I constantly see all of the things that he and Loretta do, but this time, I witnessed it firsthand. We at St. Peter St. Paul are very blessed to have them as parishioners. Both charities are very worthwhile and each welcome any donations/contributions. If you are looking to help someone over the holidays, you may want to check both of them out-just click on the link for more info.
