I have been riding dirt bikes since I was about 4-5 years old. My dad and I would go to some of the large open fields in Rancho back before all the houses were there like today.
Or we head out to the desert for the day. As a young kid, this was super awesome!
As my skills started progressing I was starting riding on tracks a lot more. When I was around 8-9 years old I was racing another kid about the same age at Glen Helen in San Bernardino. Long story short,
I flew off the track and whipped out pretty bad! I was in the hospital for a few days.
Had a hole in my left cheek, a broken left leg, and many torn ligaments and tendons.
Although I was in pain, the worse part was my house was the only house in the neighborhood with a pool. And I crashed the first week of Summer break.
So I got to watch every neighbor kid come over and swim in my pool while I laid on the couch with a cast all the way up to my butt.
I didn't get back on a motorcycle again until I was 18.
Since then I have been riding off and on. Most recently I purchased an enduro. This is a dirt bike you can ride on the street and the dirt, so I am riding a lot more now.
Even though I am a lot older now and even though it is a lot of work ripping around, it is a huge stress reliever for me today.
