Summer in the Inland Empire is a season all its own.
From ice blocking at Heritage Park and concerts at Red Hill to Movies in the Park and long days cheering from the sidelines, some of our best family memories are made during these hot summer months.
In this month's article, I'm sharing a few of my favorite ways to survive—and actually enjoy—summer in our community, along with some simple tips for staying cool while making the most of the season.
What's your family's favorite summer tradition in Rancho Cucamonga or the Foothill Communities?
☀️ Read the article here:

Summer in the Inland Empire is officially here, and if you've lived here long enough, you know what that means: triple-digit temperatures, packed schedules, and finding creative ways to stay cool while still enjoying everything our community has to offer.Whether you're spending weekends at the ballf...

There’s a big difference between a “good school rating” and a true sense of community. ❤️🏡📚
As both a Realtor and a mom, I wanted to share my perspective on why so many families are drawn to the Etiwanda School District — and why neighborhoods in the Foothill Communities continue to stay so competitive.
In this quick article, I talk about the connection between schools, community culture, and home values, and why families are investing in so much more than just square footage.
If you’ve ever wondered what makes certain neighborhoods feel so special, this one’s for you. ☕✨

As a Realtor, I spend a lot of time looking at data, but as a mom, I know that a school is about more than just a rating on a website. Take the Etiwanda School District, for example. Yes, the schools consistently earn Distinguished School awards, but it’s the culture that matters. When you drive th...

It’s May in Rancho Cucamonga, which means the Quakes are in full swing at Morongo Field and the sun is finally sticking around! ⚾️☀️ But before we get deep into summer travel and poolside weekends, it’s time to put our homes through a little "Spring Training."

Living in the foothills is a dream, but it comes with some unique responsibilities. Did you know that local fire safety inspections for high-severity zones officially started today, May 1st?. From clearing brush to creating that crucial 5-foot ember-resistant "Zone 0" around your house, a little prep now goes a long way in protecting your "home base."

I’ve put together a quick 5-step checklist on the blog to help you get game-day ready—including my favorite local contractor referrals! 🏠✨

How are you prepping your home for the heat? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Just like the Quakes had to prepare for their long season at Morongo Field, it’s time for us homeowners to put our houses through a little "Spring Training." Living at the base of the foothills is beautiful, but it means our homes take a beating from the Santa Ana winds and the looming summer heat...

Fun fact… ten years ago I never thought I’d be the person collecting fresh eggs from my backyard 🥚
But here we are — and our chickens have become such a special part of our home and daily life. From better breakfasts to teaching my son responsibility, this little slice of homestead living has been so rewarding.
I get asked all the time… can you actually have backyard chickens here? The answer is YES (with a few rules). And I’m breaking it all down in my newest blog post — plus what to know if you’re dreaming of a little farm life in the suburbs.

If you would have told me ten years ago that my morning routine would include a trip to the backyard to gather fresh eggs, I might have laughed. But here I am, a lifelong Rancho local, and I’ve fallen head over heels for the "modern homestead" lifestyle. There is something incredibly grounding abo...

I remember when Victoria Gardens was open space and the air smelled like citrus after the rain 🍊
Rancho Cucamonga has changed—but the why behind its value hasn’t. So… is RC still worth it in 2026?
Short answer: yes—and here’s why. From stable home values to the rise of multigenerational living, the market is shifting in a healthy way. I’m calling it The Great Housing Reset, and I break it all down on the blog.

When I was growing up here, Rancho Cucamonga looked a lot different. I remember the open space where Victoria Gardens now stands and the way the air smelled like citrus and grapes after a rain. I’ve watched this city evolve from a quiet cluster of neighborhoods into one of the most desirable place...

Being born and raised in this community, I’ve seen this city grow, but the heart of it has always been in our parks and around our dinner tables. Raising my son here has given me a perspective I didn’t have as a kid—now I’m the one looking for the shortest walk to the practice fields and the best post-game pizza spots! 🍕

I’m sharing a new blog today about why RC is truly the ultimate "home base" for families in 2026. Whether you're a lifelong local or looking to plant roots here, this one's for you.

If you’re a baseball parent, you know that Saturday mornings aren't spent sleeping in—they are spent on a folding chair with a coffee in hand, cheering on your favorite little slugger. As a lifelong resident of Rancho Cucamonga, I’ve seen this city evolve, but one thing has never changed: the ...

✨ Saying goodbye to summer the only way I know how—sunsets, ice cream, and one last stroll through the farmer’s market. ☀️🍦🌄 How do you like to wrap up the season?
Candice Newman | CN Realty | CalDRE 01924842

The hardest words I’ll say all year: “Bye, summer.” Every year, it sneaks up on me. One day we’re soaking up the sunshine, sipping something cold, and living just a little more carefree, and the next—it’s time to trade flip-flops for cozy sweaters. As bittersweet as it is to say farewell...
