I was so excited to visit Manes For Movement new facility at Palos Verdes Stables ! Manes for Movement is a nonprofit organization that helps children and adults with a variety of disabilities through adaptive horseback riding lessons and equine assisted therapies. The program currently has over 500 people on its waiting list and is working on expanding its herd and staff thoughtfully and sustainably. They need support from the community! If you would like to get involved through donations or volunteerism, reach out through their website www.manesformovement.com and stay tuned for their upcoming horse holiday sponsorship gala, The Mane Event!🌲🐎

As the president of the PVPHA - Palos Verdes Peninsula Horsemen's Association, I am so proud of our equestrian community and the abundance of educational and recreational activities we do with our equine partners. Coming up next... don’t miss Eric King, Masterson Method Certified Practitioner at Empty Saddle Club at 7pm on Thursday, June 18! As many of you know, the is an incredible interactive form of bodywork in which we are able to find and release tension in our horses’ bodies. This is something we can all do at our own barns and is a wonderful way to connect with our horses. Eric will discuss the practice and demonstrate some of the techniques. Hope to see ya’ll there!

What a fantastic discussion and demonstration on Equine Emergency Preparedness!

Preparation is KEY to emergency management!

The events included a fascinating Equine Health Panel discussion led by Dr. “Jimmy” Giacopuzzi, Ruth V. Sobeck, DVM and Dr. Larry Kelly, an extremely informative Equine Emergency Preparedness discussion by Megan Silveira from the Los Angeles County Emergency Response Team and a Trailer Loading Demonstration by LA County Animal Care & Control. Thank you to all who participated and attended, and a huge shoutout to for providing the wonderful gift bags!👏👏👏So proud to be part of this amazing community!

Don’t miss this long standing annual tradition promoting our important local equestrian heritage! Riders to meet up with Mayor Frank Zerunyan and city council members at Chandler Park on Saturday, May 9 at 8:30am and ride over to Ernie Howlett Park together for the best pancakes in town - served up hot by our local Scouts! Los Angeles County Supervisor Janice Hahn may also be in attendance, along with many other local officials coming out to support our community. Horses, breakfast and friends, what could be better?!
