Travis Martin (BH Title) and I were fortunate to visit with Senator Mike Rounds, member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee and also the Intelligence Committee, among others in DC last week.
On Tuesday May 12th FinCEN filed an appeal of the court decision in Texas which stayed the reporting rule for title companies. We conveyed our concerns to the Senator of potential outcomes and the burden and cost that FinCEN’s rule as written will place on title companies and closing agents.
We also discussed cybersecurity and the increase in seller fraud our industry is facing. - Greg Wick, Pennington Title
