Land Notification alerts South Dakota property owners when documents are recorded using their personal or business name. REMINDER: The deadline for Owner Occupied Applications is March 15th (but the county is closed Fridays)!

If you purchased your primary residence or refinanced with any changes to the vesting (marriage, name change, divorce) between 11/1/23 and 11/1/24, you must complete an application with your county’s Director of Equalization by 3/15/25 to apply for the Owner Occupied property tax rate for the 2025 tax year going forward.

Additionally, contractors with projects that were partially or fully completed (but not sold) by 11/1/24 may qualify for the Owner Occupied property tax rate on up to four properties. This also must be applied for by 3/15/25.

Pennington County is accepting applications online at: https://www.pennco.org/oo. All other counties: call your county's Director of Equalization directly, or visit them in person to apply.

This Halloween, First American Title Company of South Dakota opened its doors for a festive day of trick-or-treating! Our office was buzzing with excitement as little goblins, witches, superheroes, and more joined us for a safe and spooky celebration.
