Years ago I was riding Jack and my bridle broke. No halter, nothing to steer with. He took off across our 30 acres, down the gravel driveway, and straight to the barn. The only thing I had to hold onto was the horn, and I have never been so glad we ride western. Needless to say, I will never ride without a halter again. 🐴 Jack is 17 hands and a whole lot of horse.
