As I embark upon my 25th year in real estate, my passion for the business remains strong and my understanding of what it takes to lead a company continues to grow. What started as a relatively unknown and insignificant two realtor entity, Classified Realty, back in 2006 has blossomed into a market leader and a collaboration of 38 exceptionally talented realtors who last year had 325 sales transactions worth nearly $250,000,000.
Since getting my real estate license in 1995, many things about the industry have changed and improved. At the forefront of those changes, is the heavy reliance on the latest electronic technology. Things like texting, dotloop, showing time, digital photography, state-of-the-art websites, and many more innovations have greatly enhanced the real estate experience and substantially increased productivity.
Despite the many changes and technological advances that have occurred throughout my real estate career, there are a few things that are as important to me today as they were 25 years ago. Values like integrity, confidentiality, and fairness in dealings with clients, other realtors, coworkers and everyone with whom we come in contact still matter. Fostering a spirit of cooperation within our company as well as outside of it with other realtors and real estate companies is important too. When you can work as well with agents from other companies as well as your own everyone benefits, especially buyers and sellers.
It’s fair to say that my business values closely reflect my personal values. A realization that I find humorous; since now that my three children are grown and have started families of their own, friends of mine often refer to Classified Realty as my baby or fourth child. I guess that’s true and perhaps something that distinguishes us from other companies. At Classified we care about each other as though we’re family and that warmth and caring is reflected in the work we do with our clients.
