💻 When Programs Collide… Everyone Wins!

Sometimes the stars and the schedules align! When the public library found themselves a little short-handed during their Tech Support Hour, our amazing high school intern, Matilda, stepped in to lend a hand. With patience, enthusiasm, and a willingness to help, Matilda joined forces with the library team to tackle the tech questions of the day!

Seven tech-struggling residents received assistance with a variety of questions and concerns, all of which were successfully resolved with a little teamwork and know-how. It’s a wonderful example of how programs can come together to create meaningful learning opportunities and provide a helping hand when it’s needed most. 💕

National Grilled Cheese Day? You Bet We Celebrated! 🧀

Around here, we’ll take any excuse to celebrate, and National Grilled Cheese Day was worth melting over! 💕 Resident Services teamed up with our fantastic high school intern to cook up just shy of 50 delicious golden, gooey grilled cheese sandwiches for 36 hungry residents. It was simple, it was delicious, and most importantly, it was another great opportunity to bring residents together for some good food, conversation, and fun. Because if there’s a day dedicated to grilled cheese, you can bet we’re celebrating it around here!

👮 Our Bingo with Badges event brought residents and community police officer, DaLonn Pearson together for an afternoon filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of excitement. Participants eagerly joined in, hoping to win some fantastic Fall themed prizes, while enjoying the opportunity to meet and connect with those who serve their community.

Beyond the fun and games, the event highlighted something even more valuable: building bridges between the community and local police. Events like Bingo with Badges create a welcoming environment where residents can get to know officers as people, ask questions, share concerns, and develop positive relationships.

Strengthening these connections helps residents feel supported and reminds them that their community police are there when they need help. Knowing who to reach out to and feeling comfortable doing so is an important part of creating a safe, connected, and caring community. Bingo may have brought everyone together, but the relationships built that day are what truly made the event a success. 💙
