Just a little story about us— Ellis & Michelle Wooten
Owners of MainStays on 4th • Red Bay, Alabama
We’re Ellis and Michelle Wooten—born, raised, and forever rooted in the small-town charm of Red Bay. Both of us grew up here, attended local schools, and are proud graduates of Vina High School. Michelle attended Red Bay School until the fall of 1989, when life brought us together as high school sweethearts. We’ve been together since 1988, married in 1992, building a life, a family, and a future side by side.
Red Bay isn’t just our hometown—it’s the foundation of every chapter of our story.
Ellis spent 25 years with Gates Rubber Company before following his passion for helping others as a Realtor with BrickDriven Realty. He also serves the community as a school bus driver for Vina.
Michelle graduated from ICC and has worked in the medical field for more than 20 years—serving as an assistant manager in a medical clinic, coding for hospitals, before being recruited to work from home as a medical coder, and eventually moving into auditing, where she now teaches and inspires coders nationwide. She also drives a school bus for Red Bay School.
Together, we raised two wonderful children, both proud graduates of Red Bay High School.
Our daughter graduated from Athens State University and now teaches Special Education right here in Red Bay.
Our son graduated from the University of Alabama and works as an engineer for GE and resides in the Shoals.
We are also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren who keep our hearts full and our home lively.
A few years ago, we saw that our hometown needed a comfortable, welcoming short-term rental—a place that truly felt like home. Ellis had the vision, and together we brought MainStays on 4th to life.
For us, MainStays isn’t just a business. It’s a reflection of who we are: two small-town kids who grew up together, stayed together, and never stopped believing in the power of home, community, and hospitality.
We’re grateful for every guest who chooses to stay with us and become part of the ongoing story of Red Bay.
