Join us in welcoming our 5th new member to the Optimist Club of Red Oak this year. Ryan Adams was inducted into the club during our meeting this morning. The Optimist Club of Red Oak will meet at Val's Sugar Shack in Red Oak at 7:00 AM Wednesday June 17th.
We will be finalizing plans for our involvement for Junction Days. Make sure you stop by the can kennel and help this month, We are going to have a very good month. Thanks to Brad Van Houten and Rick Leinen for the help relocating the Kennel until the fireworks tent leaves.

During their awards banquet recently, Optimist Club of Red Oak President Dan Crouse presented Medallion stands to Red Oak Track State Qualifiers Osiel Pedersen, Hayden Heitbrink, Bryce Williams, Emmanuel Grass and Cale Hall. Not pictured was Reece Montgomery. The Optimist Club of Red Oak strives to recognize all of our athletes who excel to state competition.

The Optimist Club, of Red Oak served hot dogs, chips and water to the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade Red Oak students participating in their annual track and field day at Russ Benda Field. Teachers and helpers were also served. Huge thanks to Fareway of Red Oak (Kerry Carlson) and Hy-Vee of Red Oak (Chad Johnson) for your food donations and preparation. Descriptions in photos.

Join us at the Russ Benda Field in Red Oak for the Track and Field day Friday (tomorrow) at 11:00 AM as we prepare the lunch for all the participants, teachers and helpers. The Optimist Club of Red Oak is out serving our youth once again! Many thanks to Rick and Rita Leinen (and an adorable assistant) for refreshing our Plinko board for the PTO Carnival Friday May 8th. Dennis Zenor, Cliff Owen and Rick Leinen helped kids play Plinko for candy prizes during the event. This annual event helps to raise funds for classroom materials for students through the year. The Optimist Club of Red Oak Iowa celebrates International Optimist Day with our Half Court Shot Contest held at the Varsity Girls/Boys basketball game. Free entries to be drawn to try to make a Half Court shot for a cash prize. Pictured below (left to right) Rick Leinen, Dan Crouse, Dennis Zenor and Alex Alford. This is a crowd favorite and theis event had more people register than ever before.
