One of our veteran escrow officers, Scott Lewis has been with PTC since 1994. Scott brings dedication, adaptability, and a positive spirit to the office. In the fast-paced world of escrow, Scott says one of the biggest challenges is navigating the ever-changing market and the new, unique challenges that each deal brings. Despite these hurdles, he approaches his work with focus and determination, helping ensure every transaction is handled smoothly.
Outside of the challenges, Scott’s favorite part of PTC is the team culture. He appreciates that PTC is truly a place where everyone looks out for one another, and where success is shared. That sense of teamwork and support not only makes the workplace enjoyable but also helps the team grow stronger together.
Scott’s love for the community is evident as he volunteers with multiple organizations and leads worship at his church. In addition to being a wonderful singer, he is equally wonderful in the kitchen and makes delectable desserts for the office. On a personal level, Scott is learning to let go and allow others to take control, an important skill both professionally and personally.

Sarah Nixon joined PTC in 2013 as a temp before transitioning to one of Scott’s assistants. Over the years, she has become a dependable and valued member of the team, navigating the unique challenges that come with escrow work and bringing consistency and care to everything she does. Sarah notes that one of the most challenging aspects of the job is managing the daily challenges, especially since no two files are ever the same. Sarah’s favorite part of PTC is the family-like atmosphere and the support she receives, not just from her co-workers, but from management as well. Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading, gardening, and glamping with her family.

Michelle Morris has been part of the PTC family since 2017 and brings a sense of calmness to what we refer to as the bullpen - the area of the office where the assistants sit. Always making time to help her co-workers, Michelle’s dedication, experience, and positive presence make a lasting impact each day. In the fast-paced world of escrow, Michelle says one of the biggest challenges is prioritizing workflow throughout the day. One of Michelle’s favorite things about PTC is the family atmosphere and the respect team members have for one another. When she’s not at work, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her family and exploring vintage farmhouse markets. Currently, she is focused on building a healthier lifestyle. She’s also interested in learning sign language in the future.

Did you know PTC has some of the longest serving escrow officers in northern California?

A true veteran of the industry, April brings an extraordinary 45 years of experience to the table, having officially joined the PTC team in August 2012. She is a firm believer that in the fast-paced world of escrow, multitasking is both the greatest challenge and a vital necessity. April thrives in PTC’s family-oriented atmosphere and maintains a growth mindset, noting that she still learns something new in the business every single day. Looking toward the future, she is particularly interested in exploring the potential of AI in both her professional and personal life. When she isn’t navigating the complexities of escrow, April fuels her love for the outdoors through her passion for NASCAR, boating, and enjoying the open air.

With an impressive 26 years of industry experience under her belt, Amanda is a cornerstone of the escrow world. Despite her decades of expertise, Amanda remains a lifelong learner, candidly noting that mastering the art of multitasking is a challenge she still embraces every day. She also values the tight-knit, family-oriented culture and the way colleagues look out for one another at PTC. Outside of the office, Amanda is deeply devoted to her family, focusing her personal growth on being the best mom possible. Whether she is relaxing at the beach with her daughter, visiting the casinos with her mom, or working on conquering her personal fears, Amanda approaches life with a blend of seasoned professional wisdom and a heartfelt commitment to those she loves.

With over 40 years of experience as a Title Officer, and 20 years at PTC, Shelly Copus brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to everything she does. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, beachcombing, collecting agates, and traveling. For Shelly, one of the most challenging—and rewarding—parts of working in title is that no two properties are ever the same, which means each research project requires a thoughtful and adaptable approach. What Shelly values most about PTC is the incredible support and family-like culture—knowing that help is always just a moment away. Professionally speaking, staying current is key to Shelly, especially as new laws and requirements are introduced each year. Currently, the focus is on FinCEN requirements. Outside the office, Shelly is learning that communication evolves as kids (and parents!) get older, requiring flexibility, patience, and a good sense of humor. Committed to growth, she continues to take courses, read industry updates, and attend various trainings to stay on top of what’s new in the world of title.

Heather Buchanan, who has more than 27 years of experience in title and over 25 years with PTC, has built a career rooted in dedication and resilience. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and family, as well as enjoying writing, quilting, scrapbooking, reading and playing board games. One of the biggest challenges for Heather is the level of complexity and detailed work involved in researching title for properties in rural communities. What she values most about PTC is its strong, family-oriented culture and deep involvement in the community. Currently, she has been diving into learning more about World War II and discovering a new appreciation for history outside of the classroom. Always eager to grow, Heather is also looking forward to sharpening her writing skills—especially mastering the art of hyphens!

Meet Team Greaves!

The team is led by Escrow Officer Kelly Greaves, who began her career with PTC in 1998. Outside of work, Kelly enjoys spending time traveling with her husband in their motorhome, gardening, and being outdoors. She finds the most challenging aspect of escrow to be managing tight timelines while ensuring every client feels supported and satisfied. Kelly’s favorite part of the PTC culture is the strong sense of family and the way everyone looks out for one another. While she isn’t currently pursuing new areas of learning—joking that she’s “too old” for that—Kelly continues to bring dedication, experience, and heart to the team every day.

Kate Hammeke joined PTC in January 2020 and has been a dedicated member of the PTC team ever since. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her “soul dog,” her daughter, and her family. In her escrow work, Kate finds the most challenging aspect to be resolving clouds on title during a transaction—though she embraces the process, noting that with time, understanding, and careful investigation, the team can always find a solution. Her favorite part of PTC’s culture is the unwavering support shared among colleagues and clients, all working together toward success. Kate is continuously learning new things in her role and is especially curious about the title side of the process, hoping to deepen her knowledge to further strengthen her escrow career with Placer Title Company.

Sabrina Hays joined PTC in 2019 and has become an integral part of the team. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and children, seeking out adventurous activities together, shopping, and carving out some well-earned “mom time.” She views escrow as a field where every day brings a new challenge—sometimes good, sometimes difficult, but always an opportunity to grow. Sabrina’s favorite part of PTC is the close family bond the team has built over the years, a connection that continues to support and strengthen their work. In an industry where learning never stops, she embraces the constant growth that comes with each day and looks forward to continuing her professional development as she advances in her career.
