The Freedom Festival is back for another year of fun, family, friends, and fireworks!
The City of Redding will host its annual fireworks show on Tuesday, July 4, at 10 pm at the Redding Civic Auditorium grounds.
This free show is one of the largest in California, with over 1,700 shells produced by Pyro Spectacular. Food vendors will be on-site to provide drinks and snacks from 6 pm to 9:55 pm. Vendors include dinner options, shaved ice, water, drinks, and more.
Please be sure to arrive between 6 and 9 pm, as the Sundial Bridge will be closing at 9 pm. The firework show is scheduled to start at 10 pm.
Live music is also making a return this year! Entertainment will begin at 7 pm with Journey cover band, Journey's Edge. Learn more about Journey’s Edge at journeysedgeband.com. The soundtrack for the show will begin playing at 10 pm on Q97 — Tune to 97.3 FM!
As the 4th of July approaches, the Redding Fire Department and the City of Redding want to remind the community that ALL fireworks are illegal in Shasta County without a permit, including in the City of Redding. Fireworks cause fires! It’s not worth the risk of wildfire or the fines. Please leave the fireworks to the experts. The use of drones will NOT be permitted during the entirety of the show.
Please remember: This is a family-friendly event, so alcohol, to***co, and drugs are strictly prohibited. Dogs and other pets are also not allowed at the Freedom Festival, with the exception of service animals.
A special thank you to The McConnell Foundation for providing the funding again this year for the fireworks show. We look forward to a happy and safe 4th of July!
