26 West 6th QUALIFICATIONS TO RENT AT PBC
1.

The Fair Housing Act (FHAct) protects all residents from discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, s*x, handicap or familial status. Housing that meets the FHAct definition of housing for older persons is exempt from the law’s familial status requirements, provided that: HUD has determined that the dwelling is specifically designed for and occupied by elderly persons under a Federal, State or local government program OR it is occupied solely by persons who are 62 or older OR it houses at least one person who is 55 or older in at least 80% of the occupied units, and adheres to a policy that demonstrates intent to house persons who are 55 or older. Any person or persons 55 years of age or older, or disabled may rent at PBC.
2. These are independent living apartments so only people who can manage their own affairs, such as the ability to provide their own necessities and keep their apartment clean and livable will be considered. In the case of a person with a disability, arrangements for having necessary care must be provided.
3. At PBC Midrise an elevator is provided but in the case of fire or the elevator not working all tenants on the 2nd and 3rd floors must be physically able to get up and down the stairs. If a physical limitation occurs after renting, the tenant may be required to move to the first floor if a vacancy exists.
4. An initial one year lease will be required with an automatic renewal to a month to month lease after the initial term.

Something to be aware of when renting apartments at the 3rd St. location: We do accept Redfield Housing assistance at the PBC 3rd St. apartments but we do not process it here. If you need rental assitance you will need to contact Redfield Housing Authority (RAM Housing) 605-229-0180. They will assist you. We have a flat rate of $520 for a single bedroom apartment and $545 for a double bedroom apartment.

Minimum 15 hrs./week
The apartment manager’s responsibilities include filling vacancies, responding to tenant needs, maintaining property, managing budget & expenses, and ensuring all necessary policies and procedures are implemented and maintained.
