Welcome to the 1988 home built by Walter Butler an engineer on the big Bear Valley Dam. It is designed in the Queen Anne style with a Gothic influence. This Victorian home supports five Gables with decorative fish, scale siding. The porch has been restored with new railings and spandrels. High style, Victorian double doors, enter into the study off of the front porch as well as the front door. Period stain glass windows have been installed throughout the house. Some are designed to fit Spaces by master stain glass craftsman Tom Medlicott. The home has been carefully restored to the era with painstaking concentration put on refinishing the front stair case and wainscoting in the elaborate foyer. The home also features curved walls, which is unique design element of the era. The back parlor wood craft has been restored, including an original fireplace mantle and built in cabinet . Walls have been soundproofed and insulated. Front parlor has pocket doors and a large curved wall with 6 feet long windows with original wavy glass. Beautiful views out both parlors look onto lush greenery from the side lot that has been designed with water, tolerant, plants and greenery, including a drip system. The kitchen has been restored as well. The original bead board was found under paneling. New waterproof flooring, and a galley kitchen are all set for you to design your own custom kitchen. The formal dining room opens onto the study with arched slag glass windows from a church in Pennsylvania. The study has a total of five windows with two being full length. This room is great for a chapel setting in case you are interested in having a wedding venue business. This room still needs to be completed. The laundry room on the main floor is just off the main bathroom. This area was all custom designed using an antique Pullman sink. The shower stall is designed with a seat and stone pebbles are used for the flooring and walls. The upstairs features, three bedrooms and a custom built library with antique elements used throughout the design. Antique stick and ball fretwork, are featured in the hallway. The bathroom on the second floor has a custom antique Pullman sink and shower. The windows on the second floor bedrooms have Moorish style. Windows with amber glass and two of the Gables that give the rooms a warm glow. There are additional windows available for the other Gabled windows. The centerpiece of the upstairs hall is a hand painted and fired stained glass window that looks out onto the small porch where you can walk out and see the gorgeous view of the San Bernardino mountains. An older two stall garage and shed are also on the property.
