"Days on market" shows up on every listing, but it doesn't always mean what people think.
In plain English, it's how long a home has been listed before it goes under contract. A few things worth knowing:
Low days on market usually points to more competition and less room to negotiate.
Higher days on market can mean there's room to talk, or it can mean something about the price or condition is holding buyers back. It's worth finding out which.
Some homes get taken off the market and relisted, which can reset the count. Your broker can pull the full listing history.
