We are happy to announce we have partnered with Move for Hunger to help reduce food waste and fight hunger!
Our company Equity Residential has been a huge supporter for a few years. Move for Hunger is a terrific charity that was started by a moving company. The moving company noticed that a lot of folks moving out were leaving behind perfectly good canned goods and other non perishable food and that was going to waste and ending up in landfills where there was a lot of need.
Move For Hunger is a program that was created to collect food and distribute it to local food banks.
began engagement for Move For Hunger a number of years ago in Seattle and it has since expanded to the San Francisco market. Equity Residential has collected more than 5,000 pounds of food equalling more than 4,100 meals.
Before packing and moving out you can pick up a Move for Hunger paper grocery bag in the Leasing Office here at Riva Terra and fill it with non-perishable food items to donate. Filled bags can be dropped off in the front desk of the Leasing Office for our Move For Hunger delivery partners to pick up and deliver to local food banks.
