The listing process can be extremely emotional, physically demanding, and exhausting. My husband and I decided the time had come to sell our adorable twin home in the lovely town of Lewes and embark on a new family adventure in Milton, Delaware. Three weeks ago we rolled up our sleeves and got to work! Here's what we did to prepare our home for sale:

1. We rented a local storage unit, packed up half of our belongings and created maximum space in our home.
2. We pulled out the old paint cans in the garage and spent three days on paint touch up.
3. We spent an evening at Nana's house while our carpets were professionally cleaned.
4.. We had the exterior power washed and freshened up our mulch beds.
5. On 'picture day' we picked up fresh flowers, staged wine and appetizers, set the table, made the beds, and basically ran around our home like maniacs making sure everything looked as nice as possible.
6. We toured the comps in our neighborhood to determine the right price.

Did our hard work pay off in the end? Yes, I'm thrilled to report that it did. Our home was on the market one day and we received an amazing offer! Better than we expected! Now we are in the process of moving into a rental home while our new home is under construction. We'll keep you posted on the progress!
