Congratulations to my clients on making The Move! Looking forward to seeing their custom build come to fruition. When buying land you essentially have to come in with a plan on what you want to build and/or place on your property. Do you want a detached garage, need RV Parking, or want to build multifamily or commercial? From there, I tailor a strategy for my clients to determine the build's feasibility and potential challenges. You should ask does this lot have electricity, water, sewage, and/or any other utilities? If it has all of the above, then you are ahead of the game. If not, then we figure out how to get what you need. For example, if there are no nearby sewer lines, then we consider septic. If there are no water lines then we look into wells. An advantage of having a realtor with a background in engineering is that I am familiar with the nomenclature used in engineer reports and can easily interpret findings from your geotechnical, percolation, and environmental impact reports if needed.
